Project: New Performing Arts building including amenities and external landscaping works.
Completed: June 2020
Architect: Proark Achitects
The new Performing Arts Building for the East Bentleigh Primary school was successfully delivered by May Constructions six weeks ahead of schedule.
This state-of-the-art building has an original design with the façade comprising a combination of rammed-earth walls and Vitracore cladding. Our construction team meticulously aligned each panel with the sinuous and intricate shapes of the rammed earth walls creating a flawless finish.
This new facility was built in the middle of the school grounds but thanks to May Constructions’ expertise in such projects, the school’s day-to-day operations continued uninterrupted. Our construction team made sure to perform services shut downs, demolitions, asbestos removal and trenching during school holidays. There was also an effort to organise connections and upgrades of incoming services, like power and fire, as soon as the project started therefore eliminating potential delays by authorities.
The project includes a specialist acoustic treatment to the Performance Hall and Music Rooms which also provides a striking decorative finish.
Externally, an intricate and well thought out landscaping design completes the project and enhances the beauty of this building.
The project has won praise from all involved and the entire school community.
