Project: Construction of a new Police station
Completed: 2011
Architect: FPPV Architects
Construction of a new policy station to service the local Olinda community in the heart of the Dandenongs. The architecturally-designed building incorporated several unique components to respond specifically to the intended use but also to the local environment. A prefabricated steel holding cell was transported to site and fixed to the slab with the remainder of the building constructed around it. The semi-rural location necessitated the use of a septic sewerage system. This requirement was achieved the inclusion of a environmentally-friendly reed bed sewerage filtration and treatment solution.
